Tres Sorelle (Three Sisters), April 23, 2011, New Ground Cafe'

My favourite sentence in Italian is this: "Siamo tutte le sorelle in questa communita." It means, "We are all sisters in this community." What a beautiful sentiment that is. Women supporting and encouraging one another-free to share our talents and fully appreciate each of our unique gifts!

On Easter Saturday, join us for a day modelled around this vision! We begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Birch Hills Dance Studio with a yoga class by Jan Henrikson, a Saskatoon based instructor who travels far and wide, always returning with fresh inspiration for her students. Living the change she wishes to see in the world, Jan brings powerful energy and deep commitment to her classes and community. $20

At 12:30 p.m., enjoy a Northern Italian Vegetarian Easter Brunch prepared by Chef Jenni Willems. A marriage of traditional dishes and fine Saskatchewan ingredients...Labrador Tea and Lingonberry Panettone, Wild Rice and Swiss Chard Torta Pasqualina and more.

After the meal, we'll settle back and enjoy the music of Carrie Catherine, a Prairie chanteuse and soulful songwriter currently promoting her new album, Wilderness (recorded in Nashville). Her imaginative live show is full of surprises, including percussionist Hal Shrenk, who performs on a guitar case, shovel and even a hockey puck! It's music to stir your soul.
$35 for brunch and music

Reservations can be made by phone (306) 749-2529 or e-mail: newground@sasktel.net You may sign up for the yoga class separately, but the music and food are one ticket! And remember, while women are the featured presenters, men are so welcome to attend and share this celebration of joyful creativity!
